Since the New York Dolls burst out of New York City in 1971 bands such as The Ramones, The Sex Pistols and more recently Green Day and Blink 182 have kept the punk scene ablaze with music and fashion sense that stands out.
Punk Fashion Victim Gorilla tapped into this scene at the Great Gorilla Run 2009.
Born out of political and social frustration and anger, punk was less a display of musical talent than a state-of-mind and means of expression for disillusioned youth.
It became fashionable to be a punk fashion victim and make a statement with your clothes.
Punk fashion was all about shocking and offending the right-wing with crazy hair, face piercings and often, demonic symbols, torn clothes and outrageous jewelery.
Punk Fashion Victim Gorilla ticks all the boxes with his red Mohican and safety-pin nose piercing!
If you want to stand out from the crowd and do something fantastic for the few remaining gorillas, come and run in the Gorilla Organization’s Great Gorilla Run 2010!
