A Gorilla Party is no piece of cake, but to save the gorillas some of GOs’ supporters will go to great lengths
John Paver, a member of The Gorilla Organization from Northampton, recently celebrated his 50th birthday with a party but rather than accepting the traditional presents he asked his guests to make donations to the Gorilla Organization, to help save the few remaining gorillas.
The party was held on a frosty February evening which, unfortunately, prevented some from attending. Despite this and with the help of posters, leaflets, a collecting tin and the generosity of his guests over £600 pounds was raised. Many of those snowed in and unable to attend still made donations at a later date - a lovely gesture.
John was lucky enough to visit the mountain gorillas in Rwanda two years ago, ” I saw first hand what a great job the trackers, guides and Rwandan people were doing to protect these magnificent creatures. I am so grateful for the donations and am delighted to help the gorillas and communities around them.”
Many thanks to John from all of us at The Gorilla Organization for his fantastic fundraising, which will help us to fund our gorilla conservation and long-term economic projects.
