The run starts and finishes at the London Underwriting Centre off Mincing Lane in the City of London.

It’s a nice, flat, 7 kilometre route (that’s just over 4 miles) through the heart of the City of London, over the famous bridges and past some of London’s major landmarks.

When signing up for the run, each participant must pay £80 non-refundable registration fee. £50 of this covers the cost of the gorilla costume and administration of the run. The other £30 is a donation to the charity.

In addition, each runner must commit to raising a MINIMUM OF £400 SPONSORSHIP. This might initially sound like a lot, but find 20 people to sponsor you £20 and you’re there.

When you sign up we’ll automatically setup you up with a personal online fundraising page, Justgiving. A link for this page will be included in your welcome email which you can then email to your friends, family and colleagues - fundraising the easy way! And you will also be provided with the best fundraising tool there is: a gorilla suit!

Yes. It’s not a race so you can walk, jog or run. It’ll be pretty warm inside your gorilla suit so we’ll be encouraging everyone to make it easy and enjoy the event.

That depends on how fast you are - for safety’s sake, we suggest you take it easy. If you’re running, it will probably tkae about 30-40 minutes (remember it will take a lot longer in a gorilla suit than it usually takes you in the gym) and for those walking, it shouldn’t take more than 2 hours.

Yes, but as gorillas live in groups or families, we’re calling our teams ‘Gorilla Families’. There will be a prize for ‘The Biggest Family’.  So why not get your colleagues, sports team, drinking buddies and even your real family to form a Great Gorilla Run Family?

You will be able to choose between 3 sizes of gorilla suit: Medium (fits up to 5ft 3), Large ( fits 5ft 4 to 6ft 1 ), Extra Large (fits 6ft 2 to 6ft 7). Please remember to mark which size you would like on your entry screen.

Your gorilla suit will be sent to you within two weeks of your registration. You must provide us with a daytime address where the delivery can be signed for- home or work.

Yes! As an animal welfare and conservation charity we’ve been extremely careful to select a completely animal friendly product, so we can assure you that they are made entirely from synthetic fibres and rubber!

Yes! Your employer might be willing to sponsor you a little more if you wear a t-shirt with your company name on it. The Great Gorilla Run will get lots of media attention so don’t be afraid to ask your sponsor to be extra generous- remember, you might get featured on TV!

Yes! You might find that you’ll be able to raise a lot more money if you wear fancy dress OVER your gorilla costume so why not run as a ballerina-gorilla, a disco-gorilla or a policeman-gorilla? If it helps to raise more funds, and it’s safe to run in it, then please do it.

Yes! You’ll never have to worry about what to wear to a fancy dress party ever again!

Yes! After all that running you’ll definitely be ready for a long cool glass of banana juice. The prize-giving ceremony will be held at Agenda Bar, right on the finish line. It’s the perfect place to meet your fur-less friends and family, whip off your suit and put your feet up.

Unfortunately, for safety reasons we cannot allow under 14s to officially register for the event. However, as the route uses public byways and pavements, there’s nothing to stop you taking an under-14 around the route with you, but this must be done at your own risk. An adult must accompany official entrants aged 14, 15 and 16 years old. Of course there is no upper age limited so as long as you’re fit and healthy enough to walk 7 kilometres (about 4 miles) in a gorilla costume, we’d love to have you along!
